We celebrated our first year of marriage! It has been a rich experience of growing and suffering and rejoicing together. God is good.

We've had an especially cold and snowy winter in Tennessee. It has created some beautiful scenery.

On the morning after we buried Melody's body, a beautiful snow covered the ground. We made a snowgirl in honor of our precious baby.

Our daughter Melody Hope was stillborn today. She was eight inches long and weighed 13 ounces. We are rejoicing in the promises of our Savior Jesus even as we mourn the loss of our little girl. Our God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

March 17-24, 2009

We arrived in Ireland on St. Patrick's Day for a wonderful week of being together as husband and wife. We stayed at a little cottage in the southwest and enjoyed seeing old buildings and beautiful scenery.

Dottie Crenshaw, Lincoln County Recorder of Deeds, provided our marriage license at a cost of $53. I don't blame her personally, but it seems mean to take advantage of young people in love. :-) We did get a little box of mints out of the deal.

We have chosen a house to rent in Gainesboro. Audra has not seen it in person. It will be a surprise when John carries her across the threshold.
